Connect MyCase to LeanLaw Using Zapier
Reduce double entry from MyCase by automatically creating clients and matters in LeanLaw when new contacts and cases are added in MyCase — no manual data entry required.
Overview
Using Zapier, you can connect MyCase and LeanLaw so that new people, companies, and cases in MyCase automatically create the corresponding client and matter records in LeanLaw. This eliminates duplicate data entry between your case management and billing systems.

How It Works
Zapier connects MyCase and LeanLaw using a simple "trigger and action" workflow called a Zap. When something happens in MyCase (the trigger), Zapier automatically performs an action in LeanLaw.

Getting Started

Log in to Zapier and click Create a Zap

Set the trigger: Search for MyCase, select it, and choose the trigger (e.g., Person Added or Updated or Case Added or Updated)

Connect your MyCase account and test the trigger

Set the action: Search for LeanLaw, select it, and choose the corresponding action (e.g., Create Client or Create Matter)

Connect your LeanLaw account using your API key

Map the fields from MyCase to LeanLaw (see tips below)

Test the Zap and turn it on

MyCase distinguishes between People and Companies — both can be mapped to a LeanLaw client

Map the MyCase case Name to the LeanLaw matter Name

LeanLaw requires a Client, Responsible User, and Matter Type (Hourly, Flat, or Contingency) — use LeanLaw's built-in dropdown pickers to select these

If you're also syncing contacts, you can use a lookup step to map the case's associated person or company to the correct LeanLaw client
