If you're coming from a different software environment, you'll likely want to bring your data with you. LeanLaw offers free migration for standard softwares, with additional fees for outdated platforms.
Below are the 3 requirements to having your data imported:
1. Each Case/Client must have the necessary information
LeanLaw checks for four different values when importing firm data:
- Client/Matter Names and IDs
- Billing Addresses
- Archived or Closed Cases
- Time and Expenses
Make sure that your export contains all of these fields, or that the information is available across multiple files.
2. Data must be in a .csv format
Most practice management and timekeeping platforms allow you to export data or reports in a .csv format. Excel file types are acceptable as well.
