Using the Contingency Analytics Dashboard

Access the Contingency Analytics dashboard in LeanLaw to monitor your contingent fee practice — settlement volume, fee recovery, case duration, pipeline health, and data quality — across three tabs.

Accessing the Dashboard

Navigate to OverviewContingency Analytics in the left sidebar. The dashboard has three tabs: Summary, Revenue Analytics, and Velocity.

Use the filter bar at the top to narrow by Date, Responsible User, Marketing Source, Practice Areas, or Status.

Summary Tab

Top Row KPIs

KPI What It Measures
Total Settlements Count of settled cases in the selected date range
Average Fee Recovery % Average percentage of each settlement retained as your fee
Total Settlements Amount Sum of all recovery amounts for settled cases
Average Case Duration Average days from matter open to settlement

Settlement Pipeline by Case Status

A horizontal bar chart showing the sum of expected settlement amounts grouped by case status (e.g., Closed, Litigation, Settlement Pending, Settled). Identifies where your revenue is concentrated in the pipeline.

Data Quality Indicators

Six coverage metrics showing what percentage of your contingency matters have key fields populated:

Metric What It Checks
Fee Data Coverage % Matters with fee percentage configured
Marketing Source Coverage % Matters with marketing source populated
Case Status Coverage % Matters with a case status assigned
Expense Data Coverage % Matters with at least one expense recorded
Expected Settlement Amount Coverage % Matters with expected settlement amount filled in
Expected Settlement Date Coverage % Matters with expected settlement date filled in

Low coverage (shown in orange/red) means your charts may be incomplete. Work with your team to populate these fields for the best analytics.

Revenue Analytics Tab

Case Revenue Scatter Plot

Each dot is one settled case. X-axis = Recovery Amount ($). Y-axis = Fee Recovery (%). Dots are color-coded:

  • Green (High) — Fee recovery ≥ 30%
  • Orange (Moderate) — Fee recovery < 30%

A dotted reference line at 30% helps you quickly spot underperforming cases.

Revenue by Attorney

A table showing each attorney’s contingency performance: # Cases, Sum Settled ($), Avg Fee %, and Avg Duration (days).

Settled Cases Detail Table

A full detail table of all settled cases with columns: Matter Name, Client Name, Practice Area, Marketing Source, Responsible User, Recovery Amount, Total Expenses, Attorney Fee, Client Net Recovery, Fee Recovery %, and Settlement Completion date.

Revenue by Practice Area / Revenue by Marketing Source

Two horizontal bar charts showing average fee recovery % broken down by practice area and marketing source. Helps identify which case types and lead sources produce the best returns.

Velocity Tab

Average Duration Histograms

Two side-by-side histograms showing average case duration (days) grouped by Practice Area and by Attorney. Quickly spot which case types or team members have longer cycle times.

Stalled Case Table

Open cases that have been pending longer than the configured threshold. Use this in team meetings to identify cases that may need escalation or resolution.

Case Lifecycle Funnel

A horizontal bar chart showing case count at each lifecycle stage (Closed, Litigation, Settlement Pending, Settled, etc.). Visualize how cases flow through your pipeline and where attrition occurs.
